PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel beam member capable of diagnosing easily and precisely a degree of fatigue deterioration of a steel structure caused by a stress and a strain, without receiving the limitation of a diagnostic place, before generating a crack. SOLUTION: In this steel beam member with a life diagnostic function for diagnosing the degree of the fatigue damage, a magnetic head constituted of an excitation head and a detection head is arranged on the steel beam member requiring the fatigue damage diagnosis with a prescribed lift-off distance, the magnetic head has a function for exciting a measured portion of the steel beam member with an alternating current by the magnetic head, and for measuring Barkhausen noise by the magnetic head, and the steel beam member with the life diagnostic function is further provided with a connector to a system for diagnosing the degree of the fatigue damage of the measured portion, based on an effective value voltage or voltage amplitude value of Barkhausen noise.
