PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a magnetostriction force sensor for reducing power consumption of the sensor, improving the sensitivity, having resistance against noise and enabling accurate measurement. SOLUTION: The magnetostriction force sensor comprises an iron alloy strain element 11 containing carbon of 0.15% or more, responding to applied force and torque and changing the permeability; and decarburized section 12 comprising a magnetic field applying means for applying a magnetic field so as to detect changes in the permeability of the strain element, and a detection means for detecting the change in the permeability, and reducing the carbon concentration to 0.05-0.12% on a surface on which the magnetic field applying means makes the magnetic field act on the strain element.
