PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsifier for ceramic industry and a glaze using the emulsifier which produce not yellowish whiteness produced by a conventional emulsifier but can produce whiteness of elegance and grace. SOLUTION: The emulsifier contains neodymium oxide or its compound and zirconium silicate. Further as the glaze, the emulsifier is blended with a base glaze. In particular, the emulsifier preferably contains neodymium oxide. Content of neodymium oxide in the glaze is preferably 0.2 to 2.0 in weight ratio when the base glaze is 100.
