PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of orderly operating the work portion of a textile machine for manufacturing a twill winding bobbin over a long period. SOLUTION: This method of operating the work portion of the textile machine for manufacturing the twill winding bobbin comprises a bobbin frame for holding a rotatable winding bobbin, a thread traverse device drivable by an independent motor system, and a sensor element transmitting measurement values in proportion to the position of a thread guide and allowed to be calibrated. As shown in Fig. 1, the orderly work style of the sensor element 19 can be assured by adjusting the measured values transmitted from the sensor element 19 and the specified position of the thread guide 13 at prescribed time intervals and/or with regard to an incident.
