The unit has a longitudinally stretched band (12) made of an electrically conducting material with two edges that are opposite to each other. One of the edges is provided with electrically conducting fins over an entire length. The fins are distanced from each other so that they form an electrically conducting band of varying height, where the fins serve as cooling fins and consist of same material as that of the band (12). An independent claim is also included for an electrical heater provided with an electric radiant heating unit.
