FIELD: mobile communications. ^ SUBSTANCE: method for selecting a cell by user equipment (UE) may be used to receive a multimedia broadcast/multi-address transmission service (MBMS) in mobile communication system, which supports MBMS service with different distributions of frequency (FA) in one area. In the method, radio network controller (RNC) transmits information about MBMS cell to UE, and information about MBMS cell includes MBMS shift for guaranteeing priority for repeated selection of MBMS cell.
