PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyzer for sterilization or the like which can easily be mounted on a circulation water tank such as an air conditioning cooling water system, a bath and a pool, can efficiently generate a copper ion or a silver ion, and has high electrode utilization efficiency, the electrode used for it; and also the electrolyzer for sterilization or the like which can sterilize, kill an alga and prevent generation of a scale for a long time and stably. SOLUTION: In the electrode of the elctrolyzer for sterilization or the like used in the circulation water tank, the electrode 1 is formed by a hollow pipe 2. Preferably, the upper end part of the pipe is formed into a flat plate part by press molding, a crimp contact provided with a lead wire is fixed on the flat part by a meshing tool, and then the upper end part is covered with a water resistant resin.
