PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elliptical speaker in which no variation occurs in sound pressure, even if a listening position changes, and sound will not deteriorate in the high frequency band due to split resonance. SOLUTION: The elliptical speaker 1 employs a diaphragm 3 having an external peripheral shape of an oval or an ellipse in plan view. The speaker 1 has a configuration, in which a driving point for driving the diaphragm 3 is set on an eccentric position Q deviated from the center of the ellipse of the diaphragm 3. With this configuration, the generation of split resonance is suppressed, while leaving the advantage of the elliptic speaker 1, and high definition of a reproduced sound can be realized by improving the frequency characteristics in the high-frequency band.
