PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music LAN setting apparatus capable of notifying user about the switch-over of a root apparatus on IEEE 1394 bus. SOLUTION: The music LAN setting apparatus includes a connection means connected to a music LAN to which a plurality of apparatuses are connected; a root revision detection means for detecting that a root apparatus on the music LAN is revised; and a root revision notice means of informing the user about the revision of the root apparatus, when the root revision detection means detects the revision of the root apparatus.
