PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device having a heat generation component inside, where clogging of a filter removing dust is prevented in cooling air, the heat generation component can be cooled with clean air even if a fan is reversely rotated and sufficient cooling can be performed even if a calorific value is large. SOLUTION: First air including dust taken in from outside by negative pressure generated by a sirocco fan 1i forms air current circulating inside a cylindrical container 1c. Dust is centrifugally separated from air by circulating air current, and is collected into a case 1e. Clean second air where dust and the like are separated is sucked into a container 1g through a duct 1h by negative pressure. Clean second air is exhausted from an exhaust duct 1b by the sirocco fan 1i, and is blown to a high pressure discharge lamp 3. Thus, a cooling operation of the electric apparatus 2 is performed.
