PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing adhesions by topical administration of fibrinolysis enhancing agents. SOLUTION: The composition for preventing tissue adhesion comprises an effective amount of fibrinolysis enhancing agents and a pharmaceutically permissible carrier for topical administration, wherein the fibrinolysis enhancing agents are selected from a group consisting of urokinase, streptokinase, hirudin, ancrod, an antiplasmin inhibitor and a fibrin deposit blocker, and the pharmaceutically permissible carrier comprises a polymeric material giving controlled release of the fibrinolysis enhancing agents.
