<p>The pane has a transparent support panel (31), and an information layer (32) arranged on the panel and partitioned into segments. Transparency of each segment is selectively changeable in order to be able to represent an image. Another information layer (33) is formed parallel to the layer (32) and whose transparency is selectively changeable. The layer (33) detects another image in form of an opaque background. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a multi-function window pane.</p>
