<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of enhancing the ride quality by correcting the torque command value so as to correct the torque unbalance on a sheave, and reducing the car starting shock. <P>SOLUTION: The elevator device comprises a sheave driven by an electric motor 19, a car and a balance weight connected to a rope wound around the sheave, a microcomputer 21 to generate the torque command value to the electric motor 19, and a scaling device to detect the load of the car. The microcomputer 21 calculates the sheave side torque correction value to correct the torque unbalance on the sheave by using a car controller 30 to output the operational direction signal of the car, a car position and speed operator 47 to detect the car position and the car speed, the torque command value, the operational direction signal, the car load, and the car position.
