摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caliper which can decrease the uneven wear of a frictional material and further a scream and the vibration of a brake at braking with a caliper structure simplified without an associated increase in the number of parts and the change of a material. <P>SOLUTION: The caliper includes the frictional material 20 opposed to the frictional sliding surface of a disc rotor 18, a pad back metal 22 for supporting the frictional material 20, a piston 26 for depressing the frictional material 20 against the disc rotor 18, and a torque plate 32 subjected to the braking torque of the frictional material 20 when being depressed. The pad back metal 22 includes a bending portion 34 for moving a support 38 for supporting the frictional material 20 nearer to the disc rotor 18 when an end face 36 abutting against the torque plate 32 is defined as a reference surface when the frictional material 20 is depressed. The movement of the support 38 nearer to the disc rotor 18 makes the frictional material 20 contact with the frictional sliding surface of the disc rotor by uniform surface pressure, thus decreasing the uneven wear and the scream and the vibration of the brake. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
