PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact battery device of such large capacity as to be applicable to a hybrid type rolling stock, and improve cooling efficiency and safety performance. SOLUTION: The hybrid type rolling stock is provided with a power source device to generate DC power using power of an engine, an inverter device to convert DC power outputted from the power source device into AC power of variable voltage and variable frequency, and supply the AC power to an AC motor to drive a vehicle, and a secondary battery device connected in parallel to the output of the power source device to supply DC power to the inverter device. The inverter device 3 and 4 and the secondary battery device 691 are mounted under the floor of the vehicle 20. The secondary battery device is mounted to be deflected inward of the inverter device in a vehicle travel direction, so that the secondary battery device is easy to receive travel wind.
