PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera having a user identification function and capable of recording parameters and images for each user and allowing only a prescribed user to reproduce and erase images. SOLUTION: A user capable of using the digital camera is registered in the digital camera (steps S103, S109). The user inputs user ID on a user recognition code input picture on an LCD monitor (step S104) and then uses the digital camera. A parameter selected by the user is recorded for each user in relation with user ID for prescribing the user (step S114). Thereby the parameter is prevented from being changed by a user other than the user who sets the parameter. Since a photographed image also is recorded in relation with user information indicating the user having photographed the image based on the user ID (step S111), the image can be prevented from being reproduced or erased by other user having no authority.
