IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND ITS DATA ERASURE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce erasure time for data saved at a hard disk used as a mass storage means by an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: An overwrite data setting portion 210 sets an overwrite data to a hard disk 260. An overwrite period setting portion 220 sets an overwrite period longer than the overwrite data. A data erasure control unit 240 overwrites meaningless data in the hard disk 260, according to the data overwrite condition established by the overwrite data setting portion 210 and the overwrite periods setting portion 220.
