PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL display device, having high reliability capable of effectively suppressing degradation of a part of its EL element. SOLUTION: After a striped first electrode and a spacer are formed on a substrate, vapor-depositing is processed by using a shadow mask to form an EL layer and a second electrode. A cover material is provided via a filler on the second electrode. The display device is made by attaching a frame material using a seal material on a side surface of the cover material and a side surface except a part of the substrate, and attaching a flexible printed circuit on the first electrode, extending along a part of a surface of the substrate under the seal material and the frame material.
