PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bleaching activator that improves bleaching performance such as a peroxy compound, etc., and a bleaching agent composition containing the compound. SOLUTION: The bleaching activator contains an oxometalate anion. The oxometalate anion is essentially represented by general formula (1): [W<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>(O<SB>2</SB>)<SB>4</SB>(H<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>2</SB>]<SP>2-</SP>.
