PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for specially simply determining a photography parameter set of a medical tomography device. SOLUTION: A sample image (B'<SB>mn</SB>) serves for selection for determining the photography parameter set (A) including a plurality of predetermined photography parameters (a<SB>i</SB>, b<SB>j</SB>) for the medical tomography device (3), and a sample parameter set (A'<SB>mn</SB>) assigned to the sample image based on the selection of the sample image (B'<SB>mn</SB>) is selected as the photography parameter set (A). In the method for determining the photography parameter set of the medical tomography device, a basic raw data set (R<SB>m</SB>) for tomography for producing the sample image (B'<SB>mn</SB>) is altered by a noise summation algorithm (F') for simulating an imaginary image quality measure (M<SB>mn</SB>) before performing 3D reconstruction.
