PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing packaged tea beverage by which natural catechin is favorably preserved, flavor and color tone inherent in tea are not spoiled and smell of baking soda is not imparted to the beverage. SOLUTION: The method for producing packaged tea beverage comprises the following process: adding L-ascorbic acid to tea extract liquid extracted from tea leaves with extraction water or extraction water so as to regulate the tea extract to≤pH 5 followed by heating the tea extract liquid; subjecting the tea extract liquid to electrolysis or electrodialysis so as to regulate the tea extract liquid to≥pH 5.5 followed by charging the liquid in the container and sealing the container.
