The invention relates to an electric drive unit comprising at least one electric machine (1) containing a stator (7) and a rotor. The aim of the invention is to increase the cooling efficiency of said drive unit, in which at least the stator (7) is cooled by means of at least one heat pipe (5) containing an evaporator and a condensate zone. To achieve this, said zone lies in the vicinity of a bearing plate (2, 3) and/or an intermediate flange (4), which is or are traversed by a cooling fluid of an additional cooling circuit.
