FUEL CELL SYSTEM AND START METHOD THEREOF

There are provided a fuel cell system (10) and its start method capable of setting a system start mode without causing a start trouble. The fuel cell system (10) includes a fuel cell (12), a secondary cell (108) electrically connected to the fuel cell (12), and a cell temperature sensor (66) for detecting the temperature of the fuel cell (12). An energy required for starting the fuel cell system (10) is calculated according to the temperature of the fuel cell (12) detected by the cell temperature sensor (66) and it is set as a threshold value. This threshold value is used to decided the start mode of the fuel cell system (10).
