The device has a pipe fixed at a location where the fluid flow rate is to be measured. Measuring electrodes (32a) are inserted into a section (1a) of the pipe. A magnet system (14) is fixed at the pipe section in the region of the electrodes before the complete installation of the pipe. The section is connected with the other pipe sections during the installation of the pipe by cost-effective connecting process e.g. welding process. The cost-effective connecting process also includes pipe coupling connection and quick connection.
