The method involves a weapon system which is connected with a control station by means of a data link. The weapon direction is determined by at least two position detection sensors (3) and an electronic weapon effective range determining device (4). The weapon effective range is determined from the determined weapon direction and given parameters of the weapon system. An independent claim is also included for the device for monitoring and controlling of firing procedure in combat vehicle.
