A method for implementing the deactivation of the multimedia broadcast multicast service, comprises the steps: GGSN and BM-SC which receive the deleting MBMS UE context request message carrying the decouple indication determine to delete the relevant MBMS UE context according to the leave indication, and delete the relevant MBMS UE context respectively. The said GGSN returns the response message to SGSN, and SGSN receiving the response message deletes the relevant MBMS UE context. The method used once performs the deletion of the relevant MBMS UE context by a simple process. It reduces the complexity of the equipment and increases greatly the availability of the wireless interface.
