<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently operate an internal combustion engine in a hybrid vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A torque calculation part 100b of this controller 100 is constituted to calculate a torque of of an engine 200 from a torque reaction of a motor generator MG1, in a hybrid system 10. A fuel consumption rate calculation part 100c is constituted to calculate an instantaneous fuel consumption rate in the engine 200, based on a concerned calculated engine torque, a fuel injection amount and an engine speed.
