MOVING IMAGE CODING APPARATUS

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select an optimum coding processing method according to load state information based upon the load state and buffer amount of a CPU resource.

SOLUTION: The moving image coding apparatus which selects the coding processing method for a macroblock to be coded according to the load state information which can be calculated based upon the load state of the CPU resource and the buffer amount of image data. Further, it is made possible to select an intra-coding processing method without detecting a moving vector when a P picture is coded or a forward predictive or backward predictive coding processing method without detecting one of motion vectors detected from two successive frames when a B picture is coded.
