PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content reproducing device capable of performing reproduction at an optimum speed for contents at the time of performing fast-forwarding/rewinding operation for searching for a desired video in the recorded contents. SOLUTION: The content reproducing device is able to perform fast-forwarding/rewinding reproduction at the optimum speed calculated based on a recording time length information or the like on the contents, and is able to perform processing at a fast-forwarding/rewinding speed at which each viewer can easily search for a video in the contents by setting a parameter concerned with the calculation of the optimum speed.
