PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reactivating a magnetic detection tag with which a magnetic detection tag is surely reactivated by simple device structure and a device for reactivating a magnetic detection tag. SOLUTION: The device 100 for reactivating the magnetic detection tag comprises an AC power source 12 and a coil 11 which is connected to the AC power source and generates an alternating magnetic field by an AC power supplied from the AC power source 12, demagnetizes and reactivates the magnetized magnetic detection tag 18 by sweeping the magnetized magnetic detection tag 18 in the arrowed Q direction along the surface of the invalidated magnetic detection tag 18 having a soft magnetic substance layer and a magnetized hard magnetic substance layer.
