PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: although it is beneficial to sell a commodity whose freshness date draws near by lowering its selling price before expiration of the freshness date, it is extremely hard and troublesome to deal with vending machines dotting in various places. SOLUTION: The vending machine is provided with: a shelf 6 for arranging commodities; a read means 2 for reading information of a ratio IC tag 11 attached to a commodity 10; a control means 3 for receiving information from the reading means to perform analysis and control; a price display means 5 for displaying a sales price; and a clock means 4 for generating date and time. From information on the list price and the freshness date of the commodity included in the information of the radio IC tag and the date and time, a selling price is decided, the selling price is displayed by the price display means 5, and sold.
