PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film stripping method for stripping a film with high efficiency from a work member in which the film of a relatively flexible material is adhered to the relatively flexible work member with the relatively strong adhesive force. SOLUTION: In the film stripping method, an endless-looped adhesive tape T is operated along a predetermined track consisting of rotary rollers MR1-4 having four kinds of functions, i.e., the film stripping function, the parallel tracking function of the film and an adhesive tape before stripping, the film lifting function after the stripping, and the tension applying function to the adhesive tape so that the adhesive tape T circulates an adhesive tape supporting member installed in a circulating manner from an end of a work member WB with the film WS affixed thereto. An end of the film WS is operated so that an end of the already stripped film WS is held by a chucking mechanism, and a holding mechanism is separated from the work member WB.
