PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hoisting machine for an elevator reduced in working time when adjusting a clearance between a brake disk and a lining, and reduced in working space for the same. SOLUTION: In this hoisting device for an elevator, a stroke adjusting rod 25 having a first screw part 34a to be screwed to a first electromagnet 20a and a second screw part 35 to be screwed to a second electromagnet 20b is passed through the first electromagnet 20a and the second electromagnet 20b. Spiral direction of the threads of the first screw part 34 and the second screw part 35 are formed in the opposite directions at the same pitch. A first lining 22a and a second lining 22b are moved to come close or separate to/from a brake disk 5 by the same distance by rotating the stroke adjusting rod 25. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
