The damper has a cover (5) with a number of fibers or filament bundles (10) movable by inflow exhaust gas and fixed with an end at the cover. The fibers or filaments stand parallel or below an angle to exhaust gas inflow direction, where the cover has a gas emanation opening (8) that is lying transverse to the exhaust gas inflow direction. The fibers or filaments bundles are arranged in form of spacing bundles. An independent claim is also included for a gas driven device e.g. hand tool, having a gas flow sound damper.
