A process for producing plastic slats (1) comprises extruding an endless plastic section, cutting it to form a blank, thermally forming at least one end section (2) in a mould, and injecting a functional component (3) onto the end section in the mould unit. The shape of the end section is altered before forming, eg by stamping. The blank is warmed before it is placed in the mould, and an adhesion-promoting agent is applied before injection. The mould has an injection mould section, which enable the functional components to be applied. A tempering unit is used to prewarm the blank.
