The device has an accelerometer (7) connected to a unit (5) of a motor vehicle, during the operation of the unit. An operating device (9) moves the accelerometer opposite to the unit. The accelerometer is attached to a retaining unit (8) connected with the operating device. The unit (8) adapts to outer form of the unit in such a manner that the retaining unit is fixedly connected with the unit, during structure-borne noise measurement.
