A transmitting/receiving apparatus (2) for transmitting a wireless signal to a capsule-shaped endoscope, comprising a transmission level determining part (25) disposed in the vicinity of a transmission resonance circuit (22); a frequency control part (26) for controlling, based on a determination result from the transmission level determining part (25), the oscillation frequency; and a frequency-variable oscillator (16) that varies, based on a control of the frequency control part (26), its oscillation frequency. Thus, the oscillation frequency is so varied as to increase the transmission level, whereby the oscillation frequency can be so varied as to reduce the frequency difference between the oscillation frequency and the resonance frequency of the resonance circuit (22) that has been varied with a variation in the self-inductance value of a coil (24), thereby suppressing the reduction in the transmission efficiency.
