PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen sensor capable of uniformly raising a temperature of a sensor part and being easily manufactured and provide both a drive unit provided with it and a motor vehicle.

SOLUTION: This gas sensor is provided with a base material 11 having a main surface 11a and a back surface 11b opposed to each other, a sensor part 12 provided on the main surface 11a at a tip part of the base material 11 for detecting a specific gas, a first heating element 15 provided at a position corresponding to the sensor part 12 on the side of the back surface 11b of the base material 11 for raising the temperature of the sensor part 12, and a second heating element 16 provided on the side of the back surface 11b of the base material 11 and arranged closer to the side of a base end part of the base material 11 than the first heating element 15 is.
