PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonic acid concentration detection device capable of detecting accurately the carbonic acid concentration in raw water.

SOLUTION: This device has a conductivity sensor 9 for detecting the conductivity of liquid to be measured, and a pair of electrodes 7, 8 for electrolyzing the liquid to be measured. The device is equipped with detection means 13, 14 for detecting at least an applied current or an applied voltage between the electrodes 7, 8, and a carbonic acid concentration detection means 3 for detecting the carbonic acid concentration in the liquid to be measured from the conductivity detected by the conductivity sensor 9 and either of the current or the voltage detected by the detection means 13, 14 when applying a prescribed current or voltage between the electrodes.
