<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a person position detection device capable of specifying the position of a person aboard a vehicle such as a train and bus even when the vehicle moves inside of a tunnel or in a place to which electric wave does not reach. <P>SOLUTION: The person position detection device 10 comprises a vehicle specifying section 13 that is attached to the vehicle 11 and has vehicle specifying information for specifying the vehicle 11, and a portable terminal 15 on a user side having an information taking section 20 for taking the vehicle specifying information of the vehicle specifying section 13 and a transmitting section 22 for transmitting the vehicle specifying information. The user having the portable terminal, when getting on the vehicle, takes the vehicle specifying information with the portable terminal.
