<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-use observation apparatus enabling an observer to have good observation images without being forced to take an unnatural attitude even when the observer shifts the observation position during observation. <P>SOLUTION: The observation apparatus comprises: a display section; a detection means capable of detecting the position of the observer; and a following drive means capable of following the change of the observer's position detected by the detecting means and moving the display section. In the following drive means, the range of operation to drive the display section in the same direction is divided into two or more stages. The following drive means has two or more driving mechanisms to drive the display section in the same direction. The two or more driving mechanisms to drive the display section in the same direction are so constituted that, linked with the operation toward the following direction of the display section by the driving mechanism operating in the first stage, the driving mechanism which operates in the second stage or later returns to the initial operation position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
