<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corona charging device capable of preventing the corona discharge product from depositing on a photoreceptor surface in an idle state. <P>SOLUTION: The corona charging device 100 is equipped with a charging device main part CH which is a scolotron charging device for charging the surface of a photoreceptor drum PC of an image forming apparatus, a first power source PS1 supplying current to a wire WR of the charging device main part CH, a second power source PS2 supplying current to a grid GR, a third power source PS3 supplying current to the grid GR when the second power source PS2 is in an off state, and a switching element CG switching a power source, which applies voltage to the grid GR when the first power source PS1 and the second power source PS2 are in an off state, to the third power source PS3. The device maintains a state that the voltage is applied to the grid GR even when the image forming apparatus is in the idle state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
