<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor disk controller capable of transmitting data without any restriction on CPU bus speed. <P>SOLUTION: This semiconductor disk controller includes a first port, a second port having a plurality of channels, a central processing unit connected to a CPU bus, a buffer memory constructed to temporarily store data to be transmitted from the second port to the first prot or from the first port to the second port, a buffer control/arbitration block connected to the CPU bus and constructed to control reading and writing operation of the buffer memory according to control by the central processing unit, a first data transmission block connected between the first port and the buffer control/arbitration block and constructed to transmit the data stored in or read from the buffer memory without using the CPU bus, and a second data transmission block connected between the second port and the buffer control/arbitration block and constructed to transmit the data stored in or read from the buffer memory without using the CPU bus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
