PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch for simply controlling a deformation amount of a groove part and simply maintaining a proximity/isolation state of the groove part by thinning the whole thickness. SOLUTION: The optical switch comprises a waveguide film composed of a first waveguide 1a and a second waveguide 1b intersected with the first waveguide 1a, and a groove part width control part. The waveguide film 1 has a prescribed angle with the first waveguide 1a and the second waveguide 1b and further comprises the groove part 1c formed in an intersection part with the first waveguide 1a and the second waveguide 1b. In addition, the groove part width control part is a device for performing proximity/isolation of a width of the groove part 1c by applying force on the groove part 1c from a width direction of the groove part 1c.
