PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor with high impact resistance and reliability, capable of efficiently exhausting air in a motor. SOLUTION: A stopper 40 is fixed to an axial abutting surface 32d and radial abutting surface 32e of a cylinder 32 in a rotor hub 30. By forming recesses 45 in the top end surface 44 of the stopper 40, a motor outside part is connected with a space 80 between the intersection 32f of the axial abutting surface 32d and the radial abutting surface 32e in the rotor hub 30 and the chamfering part 43 of the stopper 40. This enables a gas-liquid interface 80 formed in a micro clearance around the recesses 45 between the stopper 40 and a housing 20 to improve the impact resistance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
