PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication terminal which transmits and receives a voice signal by using radio communication technology, can switch a operation mode into either of a master mode or a slave mode in a portable terminal and can make a radio communication with a plurality of devices being slave sets, and to provide its control method. SOLUTION: The radio communication terminal 1 which uses radio communication technology to transmit and receive a voice signal and comprises a master set 2 and a slave set 3 for performing radio communication by the operation mode of either the master mode or the slave mode to the portable terminal 4. It further has a radio communication part 6 for performing two-way voice communication with the slave set 3 and the portable terminal 4, a master/slave switching part 14 for switching the operation mode of either the master mode or the slave mode in accordance with the existence/absence of a master/slave switching function of the portable terminal 4, and a registration information storing part 11 for storing registration information of the slave set 3 and the portable terminal 4 to thereby be able to perform radio communication with a plurality of radio communication terminals to be a slave.
