PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and an image processing program capable of carrying out image processing suitable for characteristics of individual images included in an original. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus 100 includes: a CCD 102 and a pre-stage image processing circuit 106 for reading a region of each image printed on the original to acquire image data; a particular pattern detection section 108 for detecting particular pattern information on the basis of the image data; a particular pattern analysis section 110 for analyzing the characteristic of the image by each image region on the basis of the particular pattern information; and an image processing selection circuit 112 for selecting an image processing form by each region of the image in the original on the basis of the image characteristic.
