PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tubular incandescent lamp in which the ratio of a non-light emitting part can be made smaller, and in which sufficient creeping distance can be secured without enlarging the outer diameter of the base flange part. SOLUTION: This is the tubular incandescent lamp in which the base is fixed and adhered by an inorganic adhesive to a sealing part formed on the end part of the tubular incandescent lamp, and in which the base is incorporated into a prescribed device via a holder consisting of metal. A nearly cylindrical attached part, a flange part of a relatively large-diameter continuously installed at this attached part, and a lamp retaining part continuously installed at this flange part are formed in the base. The holder is fitted into the attached part, and the contacted part is formed because one part of the flange part is contacted with the holder. The skirt part extendingly existing having a spacing to the base over the whole circumference is formed at a position separated from the contacted part in the inward of the tube axial direction at the flange part.
