The method involves determining assigning branch instruction to be processed to a set of predetermined branch classes, and determining whether the branch is implemented or not, based on the determined branch classes. Branch-predication-devices (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d) are assigned to the branch classes to determine the implementation of the branch. Each branch-prediction-device is an adaptive branch-prediction-device. An independent claim is also included for a CPU with a set of branch-predication-devices.
