The counterweight for a vertical elevator has a first (1.1) and a second (1.2) support frame. Two horizontal, continuous drive shafts (5.1,6.1,5.2,6.2) are mounted spaced apart one above the other on each support frame and protrude to the side by their ends forming free ends (7.1,8.1,7.2,8.2) upon which are seated gearwheels (9.1,9.2). Two drive motors (10.1,11.1,10.2,11.2) are installed on both the first and the second support frame and each is coupled with one of the two drive shafts of the subject support frame. |
